Chicago Magazine 'top' pizza
« on: November 02, 2010, 05:32:00 AM »
Thought I'd post this link to a ranking (from summer) of some supposedly 'top' Chicago places by Chicago Magazine.  I have to say, this should serve as a wake-up call to all who think Chicago only serves deep dish or too-thick stuff.  Lots of great, creative, passionate pizzamakers in Chi-town, baby!

The list is a bit "meh" in my opinion.

You just shouldn't group all those places in one category.

The biggest thing wrong with the list is the number one slot going to Great Lakes, Great Lakes is over priced from what I've seen of the pies.  No way am I going to pay $50 for two pizzas just because some guy decided he'd get his ingredients from the farmers market and will only sell three kinds of pies each day.

It just screams ELITIST, I get a bad vibe even thinking about going.

I would try it my self if the price was right but really, for half the price I can go and get Neapolitan Pies and great service!
