Agostino's in Natick, MA
« on: May 06, 2011, 07:27:49 PM »
This is a small family-owned Italian restaurant that I have been coming to for many years. The pizza is always great, and I was reminded as such this evening when we had a pepperoni and ricotta pie. It is thicker than a NY, but has a slighty chewy, super crispy crust. The toppings are heavy - slices barely stand on their own. The dough is made on site, and has less salt that I prefer, but is obviously HG flour that is mixed extensively. The sauce is chunky tomatoes that taste nice and bright - most likely used straight from a can. I have no idea what the cheese is but you can string it out over a foot. Excellent pizza - I wish I could make this style as good at home.

That looks really good..looks like cornmeal (or maybe semolina) on the base...I do love that texture.  I'm going to have to check this place out next time I'm up Natick way.
