I can get clay mexican tiles from my tile dealer. 8" x 8" x 3/4" tiles.

When you rub your finger on them you do get some sediment on your finger.

Are these tiles safe for cooking on?

Do you need to season the tiles first?  Like spraying some oil on it and baking it first.
