White sauce

Can anybody share a recipe for white sauce and also suggestion as to what other toppings might go well for the sauce? I know seafood works for white sauce but seafood aside, any other toppings might be suitable?

I have a tub of ricotta cheese in the fridge which I thought might be a good ingredient for white sauce.  Question is whether if ricotta is suitable for baking or should I just apply on a ready baked crust and topped with other toppings like smoked salmon?

A basic Italian White Sauce.  Pan over med low heat melt butter, add flour, stir well and let cook for a few minutes to take raw flavor from flour, stir in cream cook till thick ( i use2 tbs buter, 1 tbs flour per cup of cream) can also add garlic power or salt, parmesan cheese, all up to what you like.    Toppings,  fresh greens sauté with olive oil garlic, onions.   Any white meat sauted, chicken, pork.   Hope this helps   Yes you can bake ricotta cheese can be baked

Not sure.   Never needed to because its so easy to make.    But I don't see why not.
