some advice needed

hi guys,

Im just wondering how you all go about taking room temps ect... I have an old meat thermometer that i use for taking readings of dough, but need something a bit more accurate. Also would love to be able to get accurate readings of room temp. Havnt managed to find a probe that does the job.

My other question was regarding mixers, i am a home baker so space and money is an issue but what wuld you guys reccomend? The mixers i see you guys talking about all look pretty good, but i need something around the
200 mark.
