There oughta be a law against pre-cooking sausage! I get mine from an area sausage maker that makes the best hot Italian links I've ever had. I slice them down the middle lengthwise, pinch off marble-sized chunks and drop them right on the pie. I like sausage pies with sliced green peppers and sliced mushrooms. I put the sliced mushrooms in a bowl, cover with water and microwave for two minutes.
