DKM's recipe question

Hey guys i have two question for DKM's recipe i was wondering if you were to make a sausage deep dish would you pre cook the sausage? and for the sauce im using hunts 28oz. can of crushed tomatos do you think that it will be an okay replacement for the 6 in 1 brand

I always precook the sausage, but that's a personal decision.

You can substitute Hunts for 6-in-1 and get a reasonable result, but it's not going to be nearly as tasty as a pie made with 6-in-1.

I've used Huntz a couple of times because I ran out before my next order came in.  They work, but IMHO 6-in-1 are a better product.

I sometimes precook, sometimes don't.  If your trying to watch how much fat you eat, this isn't the pizza for you :P however, precooking the sausage can render out some of the fat.
