butter chicken

My pregnant wife loves butter chicken so we hit the global foods to get all the legit spices, fenugreek leaves, cardamom, methi seeds, tumeric, made some garlic and ginger pastes and came out with an amazing murgh makhani

Sub, looks very similar on ingredients with the exception of powders instead of seeds and leaves. I will write down the list of ingredients and recipe I used and post it.

-2 lbs chicken (whatever cut you prefer) cubed for skewering/grilling kabob style
- tbs lemon juice
-tsp ground dried chili peppers

*******

Marinade:

- 1 small container of plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Garam nasal
- 1 tsp tumeric
- 2 tbs ginger paste
- 1/2 tbs garlic paste

Grill chicken until 3/4 of the way cooked through, it will finish cooking in the sauce preventing it from drying out

Sauce:

- 2 tbs ginger paste
- 12 cloves garlic ground to paste
- 4 small chili peppers
- 2 cloves
- 1 black cardamom
- 4 black cardamoms
- 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 stick butter

Sauté ingredients until cooked down, moisture reduced and very fragrant

-Add a large can of whole tomatoes
Cook for 15-20 minutes
-1 tbs chili peppers ground to a powder
- 3/4 tbs almond paste
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 tbs crushed fenugreek leaves
Add grilled chicken pieces to pot cook for 10-15 min
- 2/3 cup of heavy cream ( add this near end of cooking)

( found recipe posted by soma on ecurry and followed almost exactly, turned out amazing. Served with basmati rice, naan and cilantro)
