Does pouring heavy cream on my Häagen-Dazs make me a bad person?

If it does make you a bad person, it is only because you should be pouring a fine cognac over your ice cream rather than heavy cream.

I made some peach-bourbon-vanilla preserves and put heavy cream on that too...

You've done worse.

We don't talk about that.

I normally use this whipped cream for sweet potato pie, but I think it might be good with vanilla ice cream, maybe with some hot chocolate sauce. And some chopped nuts. And a cherry on top!

Brandied Whipped Cream
1 1/3 cups heavy cream, cold
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon brandy

Whip!

Another carrot cake, which is a favorite in our family. It has been a long time since the last one I made. Recipe is upthread somewhere if anyone is interested.

Looks very tasty. :chef:

I'm not a big sweets fan, but I'd like a bit of Creme Fraiche/Whipped Cream on the side with that.

Plan for next time is to serve it with cinnamon-vanilla ice cream on the side. What do you think?

We have this great ice cream in our region [ https://www.graeters.com ] and they make a wonderful rich pumpkin ice cream that I have discovered becomes sublime when covered caramelized pecans.

Try at your own risk, I just got back from Kroegers after emptying their freezer case of Graeters...  :P

I love adding double cream to ice cream  :-[  Will also have clotted cream and ice cream if I have it in the fridge  :-D

Made this very simple ginger cake a few times recently, it's really rather good. Quadruple the spices and use dark brown sugar instead of caster though if anyone tries it. The batter is really thin, I thought I'd made a mistake when I made it but it seems to work fine

Over the summer I messed with AP flour for the first time. To see. King Arthur showed me recipes for sweet cakes/breads like those pictured below.

I was reminded of hippie chicks, decades ago, flaunting their domestic prowess with these types of loaves. Pfft!

What I learned: A cake is nothing more than a big, soft, puffy cookie.  Not my style, said Greasy.

Some account a bad pizza as a good pizza. Some, correctly, disagree. As Archie Bunker said, "Kay saroo, saroo."

Unity is here: A gum line disqualifies. Foul, foul! Out of the running, scratched. No other consideration given. Get thine atrocity hence. Because someone added water to flour and heated it the world became a worse place. Hock-a-pa-too!

Another new technique explored, for the Roadside Pie King! Submitted for your approval the laminated pastry technique. Bicolor pastry, chocolate pudding pie.
