sauce making question

i separated the tomatoes from the puree, cut the tops and bottoms off, crushed them with my fingers, and took out pretty much all the seeds (wasn't a big pain).  my question is, do the tomatoes go back into the puree?

When I made my sauce I did. I like the texture to it with them in.
