Patsy's in Harlem
« on: July 16, 2018, 01:27:03 PM »
Made it up to Patsy's in Harlem last Friday for a late lunch after the drive up from Maryland. Hopped on the subway and got there around 3 PM.  Place was virtually empty so service was quick.  Ordered a plain pie and a pepperoni/onion/mushroom for four people.  I like thin pies and these didn't disappoint. Crust was crispy without being crackery at all - there was a nice softness after the crispy start. Dough was great, sauce had a fresh tomato taste with little to no other seasonings other than maybe a hit of salt. The cheese melt was nice - really an all around balanced pie.  Plain pie was a little more crispy, but both were excellent.

In the past year I've made it to Joe's, John's of Bleeker St (I'll write more about this in a separate post), and now Patsy's.  Patsy's was the hands-down winner between those three for me and my son. My boy was still crowing about it today. And it was fun to get out of lower/midtown Manhattan.

I need some suggestions for my next trip up there!

Doug
