For anyone else who comes across this in the future:

We ended up going to Tony Baloney's. There weren't many places that sounded super promising and we had a vegan in the group so it just made the most sense. There's actually a Tony Baloney's in Hoboken, where I live, so I'd been before. But this confirmed why I don't go more often: it's just not that good. The crust quality isn't great. They're more about the wild topping combos, but the execution of the topping combos isn't as good as you'd hope. For example, we had a kimchi pizza that had an absurd amount of a really sweet sauce on it.

Next time I might go down to Ventnor City and try out Zorro's Pizza. It looks pretty good.

Also Tony's Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City looks like it could be decent.
