Going to Ann Arbor this weekend, any recommendations?
« on: April 12, 2019, 01:32:48 PM »
I did go to Zimmerman's last time I went, and wasn't overly impressed. I bet they were great back in the day though.

Italian grocery stores, restaurant supplies, pizza, Indian grocers... these would all be of interest.

Way in the back of our mind (the wife and me) is relocating, so we're thinking a little on those lines too in the visit.

We went from the DC area to tiny rural Bridgman MI a few years ago, and I think when I retire we might want a little more civilization and nearby edible food  :)

Which of Zingermans locations did you go to? I have not been to the deli in years because the line is always too long. The Roadhouse is always excellent.

At the bakery location they also now have a cafe and cheese shop. https://www.zingermanscreamery.com

If you need baking/cooking supplies this Ace hardware of all places is a must.

our oldest attended school in aa, during visits we started every day at the bake shop (by airport road), grabbed a pastry and then walked over to their fabulous coffee shop. We also enjoyed the food at my son's favorite burger shop Frita Batidos. Pacific Rim was our favorite for celebrations.
