Conchas ?
« on: August 01, 2019, 01:15:26 PM »
Made this simple recipe last night. Follow these easy steps - your results may vary

1. Make your favorite pizza dough
2. Split into 2 dough balls and place in oiled plastic container
3. Put containers in lower oven with light to keep warm
4. 40 minutes before baking, turn upper oven to 550
5. Wait 15 minutes and check on dough
6. Who put those conchas in there?
7. Oh, lower oven was turned on instead of upper
8. We're not having pizza tonight
9. Order cheesesteaks on DoorDash

This seems to happen quite frequently - see the thread of shame.  An alternative to keeping dough warm in the oven is to use the microwave - just run it empty for a while, depending on how warm you want it, then put the dough in after.  Mine has a light under the microwave to illuminate the stovetop, and I'll turn that on high or low depending how warm I want to keep the microwave.  If you have an IR thermometer, you can monitor what the temp inside is.

Very handy in winter when the house is cooler!

At first glance, I thought this thread was about some kind of doughnut with a pistachio glaze that had gone awry. :-[
