And we're off!  Picked up the last piece of equipment in Flushing and headed to Ann Arbor. Should be open on Tuesday!

A friend just moved to Ann Arbor last month. I'm texting him about this now. If a guy named Daniel starts asking you a lot of questions, it's my fault.

Calibrated the ovens and made a few test pies late last night. Plenty of kids happy to hang out for a slice. Should be open at some point Wednesday...

Andrew,

my son went to school in arbor, graduated two years ago. Lots of good eats, I'm sure Hans will have lots of suggestions but our favorite for coffee was zingermans on plaza drive, they have a bakery in the same complex. Occasionally we toy with the idea of driving out from NY just to enjoy the city (and of course detroit for pizza) and morning emails at zingermans.

enjoy!

ps I've long thought xian famous would kill in arbor...

We got our fresh mozzarella from Zingermans, they're on my list to try.

Opened Wednesday and slammed nonstop. Line out the door all day/night. Same yesterday, same today.

Just trying to keep up...

Congratulations again. Joe's is going to make a killing here. Someone asked me if I thought it'd be as good as the NY locations. No hesitation in my response - Joe's is the definition of consistency. Lucky folks out there. The tri-state area should be jealous. I wish there was a Joe's on the Rutgers campus when I was there....

andrew, even if you're not a sports fan, you owe it to yourself to attend at least one mich football home game. a very different experience than jets/giants.

An update:  it's been pretty much nonstop, just trying to get into a rhythm. Lines put the door most of the day, a couple of lulls here and there, but busy from open to close.

I tried Zimmermans and it was very good. Pastrami was awesome and their bread is superb. Also enjoyed Biercamp, small awesome place for smoked meats and sausage, great housemade root beer.

Gotta say, not great food otherwise, I'm certainly open to suggestions...

Great réception so far, First home football game since we've opened this Saturday, we'll see how that goes, opening at 10am.

The only thing I know for sure about Saturday is I'll take Rutgers and the points...  :D

Nice to see Hans B on Friday, hope to see more of you.

In the meantime I'll just keep my head down and keep cranking out pies...

Nice video produced by The Michigan Daily.

Edit: I have given up trying to post the actual video instead of the link. If there's a way I'd love to know it!

Absolutely crushed Friday nonstop. Biggest day yet.  Might have something to do with tonight's Notre Dame game.

Staggering numbers but I'm probably happiest with a 19 pie order that got knocked out in 11 minutes. So busy the new guys in back were afraid to come up front to refill cause they were getting knocked around.

And I put together a couple of Upside Downs to test. Good enough to sell.

More of the same today. And our intel says Barstool will be in the house for tonight's game. Dave Portnoy is a Michigan Alum. No pressure but if we get less than an 8.3 I'll be serving up a personal Seppuku pie.

Off to the races!!!

Happy for your success! Upside down looks pretty good. If Barstool gets a slice like I had there you'll score well.

Barstool probably not coming today, maybe for Michigan State or Ohio State. On the lookout...

Your pizza must be good.... Folks are willing to sit in the gutter just to enjoy.🤗

I don't know if I'd sweat over barstool guy.... He's over posted and most get lost in the sauce.

Appears you are having fun... That is the most important part. 🌛

I finally watched this. It’s an excellent positioning spot.
Two questions: what was the last business in this building or was it built for Joe’s? It appears that you also sell whole pizzas, correct?

Congratulations on the terrific  start you are off to. I would love  to see and try Joe’s Pizza. However, I am all the way across the state in the southwest corner. It’s only about half as far to Chicago for me as it is to Detroit. I realize you are quite a ways closer to me than Detroit. Chicago is still 45-60 minutes closer though.

Chicago doesn't have Joes... ;)
