i was checking out breville's usa page, the new model bpz820 looks to have changed the stone. in the second picture of the linked page you can see the stone is only a circle in the middle now. that would seem to be a solution to two things, one it shows you more clearly where to launch the pizza making for a more even cook, and two it probably reduces the strain on the stone that causes the cracking. only thing that i wonder is will there be a way to upgrade the original ovens or will they replace the originals with cracks with the new model.

Looks like Breville is doubling down on its countertop electric pizza oven. Use this thread to post discussions about this new model. I'm under the impression that it has a number of improvements.

Hey everyone, I'm working with a rep from Breville USA to put together a deal for pizzamaking.com members for the new Breville Pizzaiolo (it's improved, having a different shaped stone, more efficient, etc.).

He can't offer a discount, but he's trying to put together a special "gift with purchase" for members here.

He also said they are working with Affirm and will be offering 3/6/12 month financing at 0% APR.

If anyone is interested in this oven, please post here so I can show him that there is interest.

Thanks!

I am extremely interested. I've been using the original model for a year with results rivaling my WFO. Looking forward to seeing what improvements have been made.

I am interested as well. not sure i would upgrade now, as i have had my original model for a few months. really depends on the improvements beyond the stone.

WS is offering Now 15% off an online purchase for giving them your email and cell #
I have plenty of e mail addresses, but only one cell.
They actually want you to agree to let them know if you change or cancel your cell...lawyers.

I can't tell if the Breville is excluded, and I really don't need WS as my new best friend.

My hope is the 100.00 bump might allow them to offer the unit on their sales and promos

Anyone brave enough to try ?

I tried. The Breville is not elegible for the 15% discount.

pizzaboyfan

Oh well, nice try.

Now, if I were Breville, I'd have you at the top of my list of pizza influencers, for a complementary unit.

i tried to purchase the new oven from breville. placed an order last night. called to confirm that it was the new model and Breville said i bought the old bpz800. i canceled the order.
a few hours later William Sonoma called and said the bpz820 were in stock so i just picked on up.

Let us know the differences.  I bought the one a year ago and doubt I'll buy a new one unless its a huge difference.

thezaman

Current owners not a big difference.

First two pizzas first no stone second stone full heat top bottom. 90 seconds no turning . I noticed a crust area that was under cooked did not brown. Fresh dough was made yesterday to use tonight,

josh16

that was quick thezaman, thanks for being the first brave soul to try it out. i probably will keep my current BPZ800 until (hopefully never) have a problem with the stone.

namsco

I'm interested in purchasing this oven to who should I leave my email with? Thanks.

Interested! Thanks!

Baked three tonight. No extra stone. First two at 90 seconds last at 2 minutes. Extra 30 seconds helped browning of the crust. Two minute pizza had a little crispness to it. Not a Neapolitan trait. I think it comes from the black stone crisping up the bottom.
Oven probably needs a break in period. I do not see a big difference between old and new.

I'll pay $800 for a functioning oven without breaking stones, but a 25% price increase to fix an obvious design flaw... I don't know. Between this and the Chefsteps fiasco, I'm not having the greatest feelings towards Breville.

Subculture

I ordered an oven from WS on Oct 10th, and was able to use their Canadian Thanksgiving promo for 20% off.  It was listed as the old model when I ordered (BPZ800BSS), but it JUST arrived and is a new BPZ820 version.

So there's that.

doughsaucecheez

I thought I read somewhere on this site that WS will soon not be the only vendor of this oven.  Is that still true?  Not to get political, but in all curiosity are the upcoming tariffs the result of the huge price increase?  I was ready to pull the trigger before this price increase.
