Breaded pepperoni
« on: November 05, 2019, 03:18:04 PM »
After cooking last night I had some breading left over ( 50/50 almond flour and parmesan cheese  with salt and parsley)

So I looked for something I could use it on and foune pepperoni!  My wife looks at me like I lost my mind  :D :D

So I gave it a try, dang good but need to use egg wash not oil and need to put in fridge for an hour to set up the breading.

Here is the first try!

Cheese-crusted pepperoni does sound tasty.

This has the potential of being AWESOME!  I think you are on the right track with egg wash and chill on a cooling rack in the fridge to set the breading before frying.  Nice idea!

What has this world come to. Whats next, breaded bacon strips? Next you will be telling me you wrapped peperoni around string cheese and breaded and fried that.

This give me an idea. Instead of using traditional ABT's. Fire roast poblano's, cook some slightly chewy bacon, use colby/jack cheese sticks, wrap the bacon first, then the fire roasted poblano, then the egg roll wrapper. You're welcome.

Actually, we can take this a step further and just forget about using pre made cheese sticks. Lets buy a few blocks of Calbot Habanero cheddar, some jalapeno jack, and some smoked gouda and make long 1/4 x 1/4 inch strips. Place 4 together and you got yourself one helluva cheese stick.
