Puerto Rican roasted turkey, Puerto Rican pulled pork, mash potatoes, baked corn, regular corn, baked macaroni and cheese, stuffing, spiked cherries, tequila sunrise, pumpkin pie, deviled eggs and a bunch of other stuff.  Ate too much.  Much to be thankful for.

Tony,

Luis is doing great and is back to work.  He also plays on a basketball team at Spooky Nook Sports.

Luis's Mom that gave him the stem cell transplant is in 2 of the photos.

She looks young too. I guess the view from my age is jaded.  ;D

Is Luis on any continuing chemo? It’s sometimes called “maintenance” or “consolidation” chemo.

Tony,

She is in the fifties.  Not sure if Luis is on any continuing chemo but know he is on some maintenance pills.

Could be. 2 of my 3 are pills. Technically, one is a steroid and not really chemo but I’m told it is the most important of the 3 and helps the other 2 translocate to any hot spots. The third one is a shot in the stomach (Velcade).

One thing in all this is I’ve kind of lost my desire to have Osso Buco ever again.  :-D

Norma,

The food looks wonderful! That being said, it's spending time with your loved ones that make the holidays special. All my best for you and your family.

Thanks for the information about 2 of the 3 are pills that you take.  Will have to ask Luis what he takes and what the pills are for.  Wow, the shot in the stomach sure doesn't sound pleasant.  :(

What is Ossco Bunco?

Nick,

Thanks about the food.  Your food looked wonderful too!  I agree that spending time with your loved ones is what makes holidays special.   :D  Many good memories of holidays that have long passed.  I don't think I will ever prepare a big holiday meal all by myself, unless I am really retired someday.   :-D

All my best to you and your family too!

Long braised veal shanks whose richest and tastiest bite is the gelatinous bone marrow scooped out of each crosscut section of bone (look kind of like soup bones). Hits a little too close to home for me now. :)

Thanks for explaining Tony.  Can understand why that hits too close to home for you.

I had something with bone marrow at Luca in Lancaster.  If I knew what I was eating would not have eaten it.  Someone else ordered it for me.
