For anyone in the US who would also like a pluviometer, this appears pretty much identical to the Scandinavian one:

https://shopforrescues.com/products/545?variant=29044652146786

It's about $15 shipped. I just ordered one.

I love the "spy" as a tool, and I think getting the real thing from Norway will improve my results  ;D

Great find.

Not that this exact pluviometer, or any rain meter for that matter, matters. Certainly, any cylinder will do. But having a "standard reference" for our discussions here on the forum is kind of neat I think.

That's cute. I was thinking of doing something similar, but I just wanted to get a new toy :)

We're still under lockdown here in Bay Area, CA, so it helps to have something to look forward to.

We joke a lot about the pluviometer, but the technique has really worked wonders for improving consistency in my case. Any tool that can take some guesswork out of the equation amidst changing conditions, is a welcomed boon. Drug dealer scale & pluviometer is the way to go, imho. Let it rain!

Something like this would be useful when doing a "spread test" in order to get an indication regarding dough strength, but alas, this plate was discontinued...

And itís a wrap!

A fun and successful Margherita Madness comes to a close.
Just fired up my oven on 6/14 when I discovered it was declared a wrap by the powers that be. Here is the oven firing up on the afternoon of the 6/14/2020. Made a couple of decent pies. Maybe next year I'll get there in time like last year.

You should have posted! We had others post pictures after the events official closure.
That phrase seems odd to me, official closure . . .
Arne and I extended the birthday of Margherita but felt that a set amount of time would enhance, not detract from the hope for participation. Everyone has a ton of commitments and to try to offer everyone a chance to post, we set an amount of time we thought would allow all to participate.
Please post your pics of your Margherita, her memory is going, all will be good . . .  .

There are as far as I know, no powers that be, just two online only friends trying to have some fun

Timing prevented me from participating in the event itself, but I finally made a Margherita last night and thought I'd say hi. Ciao amici!

My family told me that I just received my apron today at home (I attached the photo they sent me!!)
I'm not in the region for the moment, but I will keep you updated with my first Margherita wearing the apron, that I'm sure will taste better  :-D

Thanks again !! ::)
