optima pizza express napoli help!!
« on: December 30, 2020, 04:36:45 AM »
Hi,
my optima napoli pizza express, slipped off my counter (flour made the surface slippy!!) and the stone cracked.
Its still working but I would like to replace the stone if possible, I think its 31cm but not sure, could be 32cm and not sure of the thickness.
Also , the hinge on one side seems to be damaged, they seem to be held with wiring incased in string of some sort (sorry I am not electrically minded) I though I might be able to just tighten a screw to fix it but I don't want to mess with the wiring.
There is some copper wire exposed, could this be dangerous?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian.

You could try this: http://www.fiesoliarte.com/en/shop/83-biscotto-fiesoli.html

If the size isn't 100% right, I think you can ask them to file some off before sending it.

They were quick to reply and ship when I bought a stone from them.

Without seeing it clearly I am assuming the copper wire is for grounding the top of the unit. Without proper grounding the shock potential is potentially pretty dangerous. I would want to have it looked at to make sure you don't kill yourself. That's assuming you can't verify it on your own.

yeah the copper wire is worrying me.
Although is not damaged , it seems that there was a layer of like shoelace material protecting it that got stretched when it fell, so its bare and loose and could touch off something...
I think I will get an electrician to look at it just in case.
Thanks for the reply.
