Red Star vs Fleishman's
« on: October 01, 2008, 12:25:57 AM »
Just a question, which do you prefer?   I've never seen Red Star in any store until recently the Ukrops grocery had Red Star on the shelf.  I had to buy a 3 pack and give it a try.  Silly I know, but I like the packaging and it just looks to be quality and I can't wait to give it a try.

Red Star is owned by SAF and their fast acting yeast products are essentially the same:,5328.msg45137.html#msg45137. The Fleishchmann's Rapid Rise yeast sold in the supermarkets may be a different yeast strain but performance wise it should be comparable to the other fast acting yeasts sold in the supermarkets.
